During her visit, Caitlin was given a guided tour of our centre, where she met our passionate educators and spent time exploring each learning environment. She had the opportunity to see firsthand how our programs support children's learning, development and wellbeing through meaningful play, relationships and intentional teaching.
We also shared the many ways our centre connects with the wider community. From local initiatives to environmental projects, our children are encouraged to develop a sense of belonging and responsibility beyond the classroom.
One of the highlights of the visit was when Caitlin joined our Kindergarten children for a special story time. Reading together is such an important part of early childhood, supporting language development, imagination and a lifelong love of books, and our Kindy children thoroughly enjoyed sharing this experience with her.
The learning continued outdoors as Caitlin joined several children in a planting activity. Together they explored the importance of caring for plants and the environment while getting their hands dirty and enjoying the simple joy of learning through nature.
These shared experiences reflect the heart of early learning—creating meaningful moments that inspire curiosity, build confidence and strengthen connections.
We were also incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our dedicated team during Caitlin's visit. She recognised our recent success, including receiving the ECLD Award, acknowledging the outstanding commitment, passion and professionalism our educators bring to our centre every day.
This recognition is a testament to the culture our team has created—one where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn, and where families are genuine partners in their child's early learning journey.
Early Learning Matters Week reminds us that the early years are among the most important in a child's life. High-quality early childhood education provides the foundation for future learning, social development, resilience and lifelong wellbeing.
Visits like Caitlin's help shine a light on the incredible work taking place in early learning centres across Western Australia and reinforce the importance of investing in our youngest learners and the educators who support them.
