We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Food Coordinator to join our brand new Tall Tree Early Learning Centre. If you love preparing healthy, age-appropriate meals and want to contribute to the wellbeing of children aged 6 weeks to 5 years, this is a rewarding and rare opportunity to bring your skills to a nurturing early learning environment.

Your Role

As the Food Coordinator at Tall Tree Early Learning , you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 0–5 years. Working with a pre-planned menu, you will adjust meals to ensure they are developmentally appropriate for different age groups, while accommodating allergies and dietary requirements.

This role also includes managing food ordering, with one dedicated hour per week provided for this task. In addition to meal preparation, you will maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, ensuring food safety standards are consistently met. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on creating a warm, safe, and positive food culture during mealtimes.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve healthy, age-appropriate meals and snacks in line with a pre-planned menu.
  • Modify meals to meet the developmental needs of infants and toddlers, and accommodate dietary restrictions.
  • Conduct weekly food ordering with an allocated one-hour planning period.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment, including dishwashing and equipment upkeep.
  • Collaborate with educators to support children during mealtimes and encourage healthy eating habits.
  • Support children’s wellbeing by promoting a positive and calm atmosphere at mealtimes.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
Your Qualifications

We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic individual with a strong passion for nutrition and working in a childcare environment.
The ideal candidate will:

  • Have prior experience preparing meals in a professional kitchen setting (childcare or similar environment preferred).
  • Be knowledgeable about food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Be confident in adjusting meals to suit the needs of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children.
  • Possess strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Hold full working rights in Australia.
