Position

We’re seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Manager to join our leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nature-inspired environment, guided by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and driven by a strong culture of child protection and well-being.

As Assistant Manager, you will report directly to the Centre Manager, supporting the operational leadership of the service while actively contributing to a culture of excellence in early childhood education and safeguarding. You’ll be supported in your professional growth while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and educators alike.

Your Role

As Assistant Manager, you will help lead a team of passionate educators, supporting daily operations and educational programs, while championing the highest standards in child protection and care.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of learning programs in alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
  • Champion child safeguarding practices, ensuring all regulatory and organisational child protection standards are met.
  • Mentor and inspire educators across all rooms to deliver high-quality learning experiences, with a strong focus on safety, inclusiveness, and developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Engage children through nature-based activities and Reggio Emilia-inspired learning, fostering creativity, exploration, and critical thinking.
  • Support educators with reflective practices, curriculum design, and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Assist the Centre Manager in operational tasks such as rostering, bookings, compliance, and parent communication.
  • Step into the Centre Manager role when required, ensuring smooth centre operations and a consistent focus on child safety.
Your Qualifications

·       A minimum of 2 years’ leadership experience in an early learning or childcare setting.

·       An ACECQA-approved Diploma qualification (or higher) in Early Childhood Education.

·       A strong understanding of child safeguarding policies and procedures, with a proactive approach to creating safe environments.

·       Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

·       Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills to build trusted relationships withfamilies, educators, and children.

·       CurrentWorking with Children Check, First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthmacertifications (or willingness to obtain).

·       Completion of Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting training (or willingness to complete).
