We have been super busy incubating and hatching chickens at Tall Tree Early Learning Landsdale!

We prepared our incubator for this exciting experience then sourced a dozen fertile eggs from a local farmer and began the 21 day incubation process.

During this time the children were involved with candling the eggs and seeing the embryo develop. The children were very intrigued with this experience, the children have been asking lots of questions throughout this experience. Their educators extended on with this learning by implementing activities surrounding the life cycle of a chicken and creating stations in their environments for children to further extend their knowledge on chickens. Children learn along side Educators, through child-led investigation and discovery.

We are very proud to announce we have 9 little babies, the children have been busy brainstorming names. The chicks are very much loved by all already.
