At Tall Tree we understand life of a working Caregiver can be stressful. We work hard to alleviate the stress for your family and provide fun-filled explorative learning alongside nurturing care.
Tall Tree Outside School Care operates from Manning Primary School. Places are available and enrolments are now open for students attending Manning Primary School, Curtin Primary School and St Pius X Catholic Primary School. Our Before and After School programs are designed to not only enrich the learning and lives of our Tall Tree children but to support you, their family, in providing loving care and creating a harmonious work week.
Whether you need Before School or After School care, we provide meals, learning support and a safe place for your children, so you can focus on getting yourself to work and having a productive day. Our Before and After School programs work to the My Time, Our Place framework for the School Aged Education and Care industry.
Whether you need care in the school holidays or just want your child to be fully entertained, our Vacation Care programs are packed full of exploration, excursions, incursions and more. Everything is designed with lifelong friendships and lasting memories in mind. We provide morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea, giving you a break from preparing lunches.
The Reggio Emilia Philosophy is an innovative and inspiring approach to early childhood education, which values the child as strong, capable and resilient; rich with wonder and knowledge. The Philosophy rides on the coattails of the innate curiosity of children and aims to assist them with understanding their world and who they are in it.
The Child - The Reggio Emilia philosophy values the child as central to their own learning, not simply an empty vessel waiting to be filled with knowledge. Children are able to pursue their own interests and revisit and build upon ideas at their own pace. You may have heard of something called the ‘100 languages of children’. This concept recognises that children have multiple ways of thinking, playing, exploring, speaking and doing. The Reggio Emilia approach encourages children to use every tool they have to express themselves.
The Environment - A Reggio-inspired environment, often referred to as ‘the third teacher’, is one that is open and free-flowing. It enables uninterrupted exploration, play and learning. Outdoor spaces are valued just as highly as formal classrooms, and the design of the space should allow children to move freely between the two. In addition, it is important that children have free access to stimulating resources, as they cannot be the owner of their learning journey without this.
The Teacher - Teachers are encouraged to observe children rather than to direct them. It is important that children are allowed to experiment in their own way, make mistakes and find new solutions. The role of the teacher is to gently move students towards areas of interest to them, and this can only be done through careful observation carried out over time.
You start life as a tiny seed, something so small and yet so powerful, something so important to so many. From there, your roots, the foundation from which all will grow, take hold.
The environment in which you grow, must be nourishing, supportive, and provide you with all that you need to flourish from seed, to seedling. A time in which nurturing, and support are imperative, as you understand the environment in which you are planted and begin to make sense of it for yourself.From seedling, to sapling, you begin to settle. To grow stronger, taller, more resilient. A sense of independence and a rapid acquisition of new branches and leaves. But in order to make this monumental leap, you need consistent and reliable input from your environment. Each and every sapling, needs nutrients and protection, in order to thrive and grow from sapling to tree. The aim is forever not to merely survive, but to thrive. To grow tall.
