Atelier

Creative expression is a window into the heart song of even the littlest people.

Using art to guide and inform our child-led learning experiences, our Atelier plays a very important role in learning. The freedom to create and express, assists little ones to make sense of the world around them and to build on the learnings they encounter as they wander through their day-to-day lives.

We provide blank canvasses and catalysts of inspiration to facilitate their creative freedom. We allow your little one to choose what they wish to express. We encourage, rather than inform their choices, and refrain from overly-structured activities and templates.

Few things delight as much as the opportunity to see the world through your little one's eyes and art is wonderful medium in which to do so.

Tall Tree Early Learning Centre Manager, Subiaco

Meet Sam

Hi, I’m Sam, your Centre Manager at Tall Tree Subiaco.

When I arrived in Perth, I was on an international study visa and held a Diploma working with children and young adults aged 0-18 years. I previously worked with children living with high emotional needs, and also children and adults with learning disabilities.

I began my Early Childcare Education career more than 3 years ago, joining the Tall Tree Subiaco family as a casual educator, where I quickly progressed to room leader of the Babies Room.

At the start of 2022 I had the honour of being selected to manage the brand-new Tall Tree Outside School Care service located at Manning Primary School where I developed my leadership experience and grew my management skill set. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the children, their families, and my team of incredible educators.

I believe my experience working with children of all ages has enabled me to understand and appreciate that every child develops in their own way and in their own time, and I am passionate about the facilitation of this.

As a leader who enjoys collaborating, I am enjoying combining my experience and knowledge as it allows me to drive a supportive and educationally sound service.

The best thing about my role is building relationships with all the little ones and their families.

One of my fondest memories is of a child who built up quite a bond with me and kept naming animals after me! I feel very lucky to come to work every day – and I enjoy telling the children all about my rescue cat, who is a daft but adorable little thing – he has no ears and looks like a polar bear which the children think is rather funny.

I am delighted to be returning to Tall Tree Subiaco as your Centre Manager and I’m looking forward to working with the incredible team of educators as we continue to provide quality care for each child.

Nutrition

We believe good nutrition is vital in a child’s physical and mental development. Ensuring your little one is healthy, satiated and nourished is a passion for us; and so, Food Education is an essential component in each and every day.

Our in-house Food Coordinators partner with accredited children’s Nutritionists to create seasonal menus and are prepared fresh daily in our Centre’s. Our homestyle approach ensures we create wholesome, balanced meals using ingredients that can be sourced locally, readily available and food we know your children will enjoy eating.

We encourage children to experience new flavours and textures to gain exposure to a variety of food types. We encourage children to self-serve to ensure they gain and build on their fine motor skills and independence. We serve our food in a relaxed setting to ensure mealtimes are always a positive experience and an opportunity to build on their social skills.

All menus are developed with allergies in mind, offering a variety of gluten-free, nut-free, diary-free and vegan alternatives. As an environmentally conscious organization we are committed to sustainability and reduced food wastes in our services.
